Genesis "lech lecha from your country, your people and from your
family"
• Physical Journey
• Journey into Jewish identity (rejection of paganism)
• Journey away from family

Main part of the programme :
Method:

represent the blind faith Abraham had when he left his home
(Attached)-30 mins
THE GAME
Obstacle Course: (5 mins)
• A pair of Chanichim from each group is chosen. One of them is blindfolded and the other is their guide.
o The guide leads the other chanich/a through a short obstacle course. Can either be by physically leading them or by speaking.
o Points allocated to the fasted team – points deducted for contact with obstacles
Food: (4 mins)
• One chanich/a is chosen from each group and blindfolded. The chanich/a has to guess which food they are touching, e.g. spaghetti, potatoes, humous. Points are allocated for accuracy.
Circle: (3 mins)
• Everyone in each group is blindfolded. The Chanichim hold a rope that is shaped into a circle in their hands. Without communicating, the chanichim have to form it into a square as a group and carefully lay it on the ground doomed to failure. Points allocated for closest resemblance to a square.
Pictionary: (8 mins)
• Like Pictionary but blindfolded. 2 delegates go up from each team. One of the chanichim is blindfolded and the other is shown a card with a picture that has to be drawn. The “seeing” chanich has to guide the blindfolded chanich towards drawing the picture, no physical contact is allowed. The rest of the group has to guess what the picture is of. Points allocated for accurate guesses.
2) We have a story either to be read to the chanichim or by them which
depicts Abrahams story. 10 mins
3) to induce a discussion we have made a questionnaire to fill out in
pairs and a very short discussion will ensue and act as a sikum- 15
