Netzer Programme

Important note regarding the copying of programmes

Aims / Objectives :
Aims
To educate the chanichim on the Netzer symbol, the Netzer platform and the Netzer decision making process (Veidah)
To show the links that LJY-Netzer has with Netzer Olami (in terms of ideology through practice)
To give the chanichim the feeling of empowerment in terms of ability to change the movement
To familiarise the chanichim with what Netzer means, the symbol, the platform and the song!

Trigger :
Trigger:
Tell the chanichim that LJY-Netzer has been asked to send delegates to Netzer Veidah in Jerusalem… but the problem is that they told us last minute, and so all the leaders are busy with Kadimah… so they will have to go!
Before this they will obviously need briefing on Netzer olami, so they must go on a short training course!

Main part of the programme :
Method:
Chanichim split in half, group 1 go to station 1 and group 2 to station 2. After 10 mins they swap, so all kids do both stations.
Station 1: Symbology: The chanichim are given blank pieces of paper and asked to draw a new Netzer symbol, which must include: some leaves, a magen david, a menorah, and the letters nun-tzadi-reish. Once they have drawn their symbols, they should present them to the group. They can then be compared to the Netzer symbol (which should only be shown at this point – don’t leave it out before!) Chanichim should be asked to suggest what the different parts of the symbol stand for, and if there are any other things they think should be included in it
Station 2: Platform: The different sections of the platform are laid out on the ground, and the chanichim should (in smaller groups or individually) put the different parts in order of importance for them – what part of the Netzer platform means most to them? Which bits (if any) do they really not care about? Once this is done, a couple of chanichim should be asked to express their opinions and explain why they have put them in this order. Then different things that LJY-Netzer does will be given out, and as a group, they should be matched up to the relevant part of the platform, at which point discussion can be had about how much LJY-Netzer acts on the Netzer platform

The 2 groups come back together, as it is time to go to Netzer Veidah! But when they arrive there has been a grave mistake! Some crazy guy called Chaim Shalom, accidentally invited 30ish chanichim from LJY, but forgot to invite delegates from the other sniffim! So our chanichim will have to represent the views of the other sniffim.
Chanichim should be split into pairs (plus a few threes/or for nechalim, make the Baltic states One sniff so there are enough) so that all 15/13 Sniffim are represented.

Chanichim must create their voting cards (as each sniff only gets one vote) – make them pretty! Then each sniff will be given the chance either to think of their own motion, or propose a pre-prepared one. Then all the sniffim can vote on the motions once they have been proposed (by a 30 second speech). One of the madrichim can dress as Maoz to oversee the proceedings!

Conclusion :
Sikkum – thank the chanichim for their involvement in important decision making for their movement. Recap what they have learnt (the symbol, the platform, veidah) and explain that it is all true and that Netzer Veidah does happen every year in Jerusalem.
