Aims / Objectives :
Aim:
Create an understanding of the main parties in the Knesset (main groups and differences)
Illustrate the issues that the disagree over (land, religion/secular)
Trigger :
Trigger:
Chanichim will be welcomed into a room, and handed a certificate congratulating them on becoming a member of the Israeli Parliament.
It will say which party they belong to, and this will be the device used to split them into groups.
A short congratulatory welcome will be given, including mentioning all the parties that have made it in, and the fact they all achieved 2% of the main vote in order to be there.
The groups will have been decided previously and a list will be shown to demonstrate party lists all those the party wants in parliament, rather than the UK where we vote on person not party.
Main part of the programme :
Method:
Madrichim with the party they are advising, read through their brief manifesto.
This will merely include religious opinion, solution to the land problem etc.
Coming together to form the Knesset, a discussion will be prompted over the various options presented to the parties eg secular state, Jewish state...
Once the Chanichim have a basic idea of what they and others stand for, each party will be given a different amount of support based on dealt cards to the group.
The party with the largest amount must decide who they want to work with, whilst other groups may put forward a reason why they could work together etc.
Conclusion :
Sikkum:
Hopefully without too much chaos a coalition will be formed, and most if not all of our Chanichim will be in Government (those that aren't can have their position as opposition outlined).
