Important note regarding the copying of programmes

Aims / Objectives :

Trigger

• Chanichim are split into groups they will be sitting around a string outline of the map of israel.
• Each group is given a current map of Israel.
• With the help of their madrich/a they have to label as many things as they can on the map (cities, deserts ect…) 5mins
• Whilst the chanichim are labelling, a madrich/ will change the shape of the string map so that it looks like it did before the 6 day war.
• Chanichim will then be asked to draw boarders on their maps to make it look the same as the string outline. 3mins

Main part of the programme :
Method

• Each group will become a country that was involved in the 6 day war.
• They will each get an envelope with secret instructions in it which will tell them what part they played in the war and when.
• A madrich/a will say what the dates are so that the chanichim know when it is their turn to follow their instructions.
• By following the instructions the chanichim will end up reinacting the 6day war.
• It will be clear what territories are being occupied ect by how the boarders are changing on the string map. (Instead of fighting each other the chanichim will change the string so they can see where has been destroyed/occupied.) 42mins

Conclusion :
Sikkum

• The Israel group will be asked to give the desert back to Egypt and it will be explained that this was done in order to have a peace agreement with Egypt.
• It will then be explained that it was intended for the other occupied territories to be given back as a peace agreement as well. 10mins
