Trigger
1) Textual relationship
2) Split into groups of 4/5. Each group given a situation to act out.
• A girl in the group is gay. How does she deal with it in terms of her friends.
• Same as above but with a boy.
• Everyone in group married apart from one person. That person is living with her partner. Are they/should they be sleeping together.
• A teen girl pregnant. Goes to Rabbi for advice-what is his/her reaction?
• All your friends having sex but you. How do you react/handle it?
3) Come back into one group and perform their skits.
Main part of the programme :
Method
On wall are presentations on 3 issues. Marriage and love, homosexuality/bisexuality, and sex and contraception. Chanichim have 10-20 mins (for madrichim to gage how long they need) to walk around and read the articles and look at the pictures on the wall. They must choose (and remember) 1 or 2 things that interest/surprise/upset them. They then will be split into groups again (single sex) and discuss the articles. One madrich per group. The madrich/a will have a set of all the readings that were on the walls, for reference.
Things that could be discussed:
• Are the articles relevant to today?
• Does their Judaism affect their views on sex/ sexuality issues?
• Do they agree/ disagree with the sources?
• How might they handle some of the situations addressed?
Make sure that the chanichim are not talking too personally ie. When I had sex … as it may make others in the group uncomfortable.
Conclusion :
Sikkum
In teams (mixed this time) chanichim will take part in a sex/sexuality quiz, basically fun and informal.
