Aims / Objectives :
Aims:
To launch the social action projects for the galim shickvot for the year.
For them to feel empowered through their choice of social action project for the year from a selection of projects.
For them to see Tikkun Olam as a process and the importance of Chinuch and informed decision making when dedicating to a project/issues.
Trigger :
Trigger:
Mock Asepha: Movement workers to make a motion about a social action project that we have decided they are going to support as Galim for the year. Give vague facts about it, let them ask 2 questions then we put it to a vote.
Hopefully someone will object as they know nothing about it and this is a major deal!!! If nobody does then a madrich should say that they object and cant believe that Young people of LJY Netzer would take a massive vote on such an important project without informing themselves!!!
Stress the importance of making informed decisions and why we value this as a movement and that in order to support a social action project one must learn about the issue/ project otherwise it would be an action without any real thought behind it!
Split the group up into the Galim Shikvot and a madrich/a to go with each group.
Main part of the programme :
Meat:
Each Shikvah should begin the process by studying together a text about Tikkun and what it means to them and to the movement.
Read through the many different options of projects to support and why.
Once they have decided they should do Critique-Vision-Method to start the process and ideas flowing.
come back together and get them to present back what they chose what, why, how, when????and a plan of action get them to set dates!!!!
Conclusion :
Sikkum:
Get them to list all the things that they have going on in their lives, their business, school, friends etc. then ask them to think in relation to the project they have chosen what influence it would have on their lives if they were facing the issue they are supporting and writing nxt to a tick or cross if it would still be possible.
Get them to draw a foot and write on each toe a commitment they are going to make in the social action direction they are going to take.
