Aims / Objectives :
Goals:
-To bring a higher level of peer leadership to LJY-Netzer.
-To help the shikvas bond and come closer together on a peer basis, with the opportunity to lead in various situations.
-To prepare for tzevet relationships.
Objectives:
-PPs will start talking about how to do a peer leaderships in youth clubs or in a galim shikvah committee?
-PPs will learn about the REAL importance of friendship in economic terms
Trigger :
1: Review of Last Session
-Have a member remind everyone what happened.
Main part of the programme :
2: Economic Value of Friendship
-Have two people who are friendly and two who are not friendly bargain over a car which costs £5,000, and the other person only has £3,000 to spend.
The friendlier group will usually sell for cheaper / in less time.
3: Youth Clubs – The Practicalities
What IS NFTY? Different set up of youth clubs. Discuss the role of the President and delegating responsibility.
4: Galim Shikvah Events
How an event works in LJY – Should Galim have a council to run their own events? Should there be a Galim social action, social, and education event on a rotating basis? Does anyone want to head this committee?
5: How to proceed? Focus on Galim events or on Youth Clubs.
Either way, go through the specifics of:
1) setting up an event
2) how a board works.
