Aims / Objectives :
Goals:
-To bring a higher level of peer leadership to LJY-Netzer.
-To help the shikvas bond and come closer together on a peer basis, with the opportunity to lead in various situations.
-To prepare for tzevet relationships.
Objectives:
-PPs will learn about different types of leaders, and define what kind of leadership personality they have.
-PPs will get a better grasp of what Hadracha is, in LJY-Netzer and in various other organizations they participate in.
Trigger :
1: Introduction (GTKY)
-Does everyone know each other? Good.
Main part of the programme :
2: What IS Peer Leadership? – Defining Leadership and Mental Boundaries.
Is peer leadership an oxymoron? Aren’t leaders immediately elevated above others by dint of their leadership?
Define both of the words…. D.R.Ch., talk about the difference in Heb and Eng..
Draw different leadership structures, specifically the age as a right to leadership in LJY-Netzer.
DON’T LET ANYONE KNOW YOU HAVE NO REAL POWER. Control is all a mindgame. How does this affect Adult / Kid relationships? How does this affect peer relationships?
3: What Kind of Leader are you? – Diagnostic Test / Animals Discussion / Leadership Trait Cards
Do the Diagnostic test (Found on the NFTY website Program Bank: ‘Program for the Academy of Youth Leadership’.
4: Text study relations to the attributes of the leader
Attached – mostly based in Exodus.
5: Different Places Peer Leadership is Found? – What scenarios need a different kind of leader?
Life settings familiar to them:
School, home, ljy-netzer, school clubs / student governments / businesses
Conclusion :
-Go through impressions of what it takes to be a peer leader – if it is harder than top down leadership.
