Important note regarding the copying of programmes
Aims / Objectives :
Discussion about and make your own invention
Trigger :
Name & best thing ever invented (i.e. something which exists now)
Main part of the programme :
1) Get into groups of 2 or 3 and design a new invention; it can be anything you want but must be realistic, (if its like teleportation or something stupid then you must show HOW it will work!)
2) Each group presents their invention including:
> HOW it will improve life,
> HOW it will work,
> WHY it is the most important invention to be made.
>> Leaders then chose which is the best invention.
ONTO THE FAMOUS SECTION
3) Put sticky paper thingies on someone’s head with a famous name on, they then have 20 questions (yes/no only) to guess the name on their head. Alternatively send the person out of the room and decide who they are and tell everyone, that way stickers are not required.
4) Do you have any interest in being famous?
> What for? Film, art, fashion or a new invention
> As a Jew do have special responsibilities? People will base their views of Jews as a whole on you.
> Do current Jewish celebrities act as good examples of Jews? Rachel Stevens, Steven Spielberg (made Schindler’s List) & Natalie Portman
5) One person goes out the room. Other people in room decide on a film, everyone in the room gets a word from the title. The person comes in and asks questions, everyone has to answer with their word in a sentence.
Conclusion :
In my youth group (JYSG) we end with announcements and two songs
